AMP Capital (New Zealand) Limited has decided to divest from companies that are involved in the production of civilian firearms. This delivers on our ongoing commitment to responsible and ethical investment, and reflects New Zealanders changing attitudes towards firearms following the events in Christchurch.
We will be writing to the underlying investment managers affected by this change, instructing them to progressively sell down their civilian arms holdings, with divestment expected to be completed by 30 September 2019.
